Spray Your Way to a Healthy Glow

You know the feeling, the sun is out, summer is fast approaching, and the competition is on to see who can stun the living daylights out of passers by with their seasonal style, and of course their tan. To get that ‘well traveled” healthy glow, countless people travel to the far away reaches of the planet in search of that elusive premium shade of skin.

But surely not everyone has that kind of cash to go on holiday, strip off and get a new skin color safely and evenly every single summer? And what about the risks that our so-called friendly summer sun dishes out every year in the form of UV light, skin cancers and painful sun burns?

From past experience, most people know the that tanning beds are often too large or costly for the majority of people, and often are an under-used luxury that ends up in the attic or the shed. Thankfully, there is an easy solution for the sun struck tan worshipers amongst us thanks to some clever but underused equipment: The healthy, moisturizing and protective spray tan.

Spray tans are safe, effective, simple to apply and produce results paralleled only the by the sun itself. Gone are the days or tans “wiping” off or looking fake and obvious.

Modern methods for applying spray tans involve applying an exfoliant to the skin before the tanning solution. Most tanning solutions today consist of both a tanning agent and a bronzing agent, as well as much needed moisturizers. The bronzing agent helps you to see where you are spraying or applying the tan and washes off, while the tanning agent (clear) results in a healthy and natural skin glow after a shower around four hours later.

Just imagine spending four hours under a blistering sun hoping to get an even tan. We’ve all seen people who have tried and failed to do this, often resulting in embarrassment at the airport and of course serious skin conditions that don’t heal too easily.

Most spray tan systems consist of a solution and the equipment. Solutions vary in size from eight ounces to up to one gallon. A single tan for an average sized person uses about two to three ounces, however if you are a serial tanner, you’ll need about sixteen ounces for a spray tan that gets retouched every five days.

The tanning agent is called DHA, or Docosahexaenoic acid which is found in abundance in fish oils and throughout nature and provides a safe and effective way to strut your tanned self down the beach this summer.
